SourceTree is a free Mercurial and Git Client for Windows and Mac that provides a graphical interface for your Hg and Git repositories. We can access the github server by using git client tortoisegit or sourcetree. But in our example we are using sourcetree client to access the github.
Installation steps
Step 1) Go to link http://downloads.atlassian.com/software/sourcetree/windows/SourceTreeSetup_1.6.25.exe to download the sourcetree.
Step 2) Double click on installation file and click run.
Step 3) after installing sourcetree installation file, click on confirm.
Step 4) Go start menu and search for source tree and double
Step 5) now clicks on “Clone/New” button for cloning the source code from GIT server to local machine.
Step 6) once you click on “clone/New” you are able to see a new window for configuring the git account, this can be done by click on browse button and choose the github server and provide the username and password of the github server.
I. Click on browse button
II.Choose the github server and
III.Provide the github credentials i.e. adding the password click on preferred protocol
IV.Select the list populated in “Hosted Account List” window and mark these credentials as default credential by click on “set default” and close the window by clicking close button.
V.After click on close button, it will open one more window named “hosted repositories”, currently we have one credential. Select the record click on “Ok” button.
VI.Now it will show you source path url of the server and destination where source code will checkout and click on clone.
VII.Click on “open in explorer “to check .git hidden folder is copied to local machine or not.
Step 7) create eclipse workspace parallel to .git folder and create maven web project.
I. Create a folder parallel to .git hidden folder generated by github clone.
II.Open eclipse point your eclipse workspace as newly created folder “webworkspace”.
